India's batting in 5th odi
Indians began the chase on a good note as Gambhir and Rahul Dravid were involved in a first wicket partnership of 65 runs, Gambhir was the first to go as he flashed across a wide delivery from Rao to be only caught by Kamran Akmal behind the stumps.
Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid who came in as next were subjected to some tight bowling from Rao and Yasir who bowled very well in their first spell. Dravid was more uncomfortable as he played too many dot balls. While at the other end Yuvraj Singh was striking the ball fluently as he was the man in form.
Rahul and Yuvraj did not take too many risks as they rotated the strike very well .When Dravid got out for awell made 50 runs of 82 balls,India was in deep trouble as they required more than 150 runs with only 8 wickets in hand at rate of more than 8.5 runs per over.
And at the end of the 40th over ,the equation was more in the favour of Pakistan,as Indians needed more than 80 runs to win this match, the only advantage for India being the remaining 8 wickets. India was also more bothered by hamstring injury to Yuvraj Singh which forced him to run with a runner.
And he showed great guts by refusing to budge to the injury as he reached his 6th oneday hundred of just 89 balls and Dhoni also reached his half century after beginning on a sedate note and he really took of from there as clobbered 4 sixes in the remaining overs to help India to win this match by 8 wickets.
Dhoni also provided some firworks in the end as he remained unbeaten on 77 from just 49 balls.
